I need my surivorman! I have one episode left that I am saving. Can’t wait to see what your doing now, I would love to see you do some survivals for longer term in a given area?
Loved Survivorman, Stranded, Off the Grid, Snowshoes and Solitude. Studying Survive! now. Anxious to seewhat’s next. Hey Les, Just keep enjoying life and the family. And no more near death experiences in the Kalahari!!! Your real fans want you to around a LONG TIME! Tell Alice HI!
Sad to learn that Survivorman (the series) is no more. You’re a huge inspiration to a fellow musician/outdoorsman, and I can’t wait to see what you have cookin’ up in the future. By the way, you should visit Newfoundland. You’d love it here, with all the great live entertainment and beautiful wilderness you can handle. Stay well Mr. Stroud.
Hey Les, Glad to see you haven’t forgot about us Survivorman Junkies.
I have your hour long video of ‘Going off the Grid’ down loaded, I’ve watched it a couple times and make notes for the day when I go off the grid. People might want to see that on this site as well, it’s not an easy one to find out there on the net.
I love your blog. I hadn’t seen you on the Discovery channel of late so I came looking for you on the internet and here you are!. Have you ever thought of of trying to survive in New York City with no money? It would be interesting to see what trouble you encountered. LOL All kidding aside, I think your awesome and I really enjoy your show.
Survivorman has always been one of my favorite shows, and comming from a die hard sci-fi fan thats saying alot. Thank you for sharing your talents with us and good luck with your video blog.
Huge fan! My sons and I admire you and are looking forward to your next adventure! Currently reading your book, and it is incredible. We’ll follow you where ever you go buddy!
Im a huge fan Les, this blog is another great idea but just when will there ever be a Survivor Woman by your side? Interesting idea.Think about it. Even if you held a sort of contest to take a fan along for a week on an adventure where they were taught & put to the test, that would be preety cool. I’ll be watching.Oh & I love that tattoo woman song you do. Peace.
Les Stroud has to be the greatest Canadian ever. Hank Hill (king of the Hill) even said that he is the greatest american ever, only he’s from Canada! lol. Looking forward to the new show.
Les,
I’m a big fan of surviorman, I’v been watching all the reruns on the science channel. Bet I’v seen them all at least 5 times, will keep watching them, sure miss you! Love to see you in a new series.
Thank you so much Les for sharing your life and work with us through this video blog. I am a devoted fan of both your film work and your music. I think you are an exceptional person in every way and I always look forward to hearing news of you. I am currently studying your book Survive. Please be safe and well wherever you go and please keep in touch with us as often as you can.
Les,
It’s great to see that you have found another outlet for your creativity. It sounds like a cliché to say I’m a huge fan, but I am. Through your work, people are allowed to live vicariously through you and experience things (good and bad) that we will never have the opportunity to experience. Keep up the good work and stay safe. We’ll be watching and supporting you.

Hey Les! Love the new video blog, can’t wait to see what your up to next. Just got you book and can’t put it down, also loving the “You Sweat You Die” T’s. We love ya in Thunder Bay and can’t wait till you stop by. Be safe out there my friend.
Hey Les, Blazing another new trail for everyone else to follow with this new format? Well, that’s Les for you. I’m sure you’ll make this venture the envy of documentary filmmakers everywhere!
I saw your email comment that “you didn’t quit,” … so, should I be mad at any particular “channel?” Well, I don’t know. I bet something happened there, but you’re under contract not to talk of it. (My guess – could be wrong.)
Well, I’d say I’m a fan of “Survivorman” but I think it’s more accurate to say I’m a fan of “Les Stroud.” I’ve seen your other films, and read your book. They are ALL great!
Good luck with this! I will be “tuning” in here as often as I can.
Now don’t go putting yourself in dangerous situations just for our sake. It’s your information & personality that makes shows like Survivorman so enjoyable. As someone else said on these comments; We want you around for a long time!
I own all of the survivorman series and enjoy watching them over and over…My 5 year old son enjoys them as well and has since been setting up dead fall traps outside in hopes of a mouse. Keep up the good work and cant wait to see whats next!
I loved your show Less, I thought your show was more valuable than Bears because you didn’t take the foolish chances he did.
No one to get you out of a “macho” mess, lug your own cameras about, make some mistakes and tell us about them so we don’t repeat the same mistake. No I won’t build my fire too close to my shelter!
I also love it when you play your harmonica! Would love to hear more of it.
You are such a talented man, camera man, music man, SURVIVORMAN!
I hope you will consider another “Survivorman” type show.
I also loved your book, very useful, informative information there, and I bet your snares work and you don’t use white string to make a snare on a animals run.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much for your Survivorman, your books, songs, all work you do. It’s great idea to make video blog, this is way to know news about you (our TY shows only Season 1 in russian translation).Looking forward to the new shows. Thanks a lot for your last book “Survive!”.
With love from Ukraine!
Les is very underrated as a film maker, I can only imagine how much time goes into a 10 second shot of video. A breath of fresh air to TV. More More, one more season, please.
Les, Survivorman was a beautiful thing to all of us into the whole survivor thing, will sure hate to see it end, but I do have my DVD’s to look back on though. Cant wait to see what you come up with next, my friend. Maybe a reunion show in the future Thanks for the “real” reality TV.
I love your inspiration, passion, and zest for life. I have two boys ages 12 and 10, we watch you continually. I am a Cub scout leader and both my boys are active in the scouting program. We have learned so much not just about survival, but about conservation, respect for our natural resources, and to enjoy what God has created for us.
Please continue to teach us, and show us the unhibited bountries of the world, that way we can teach others and promote life, and respect………..Your most loyal fans……..
Will miss your survivorman show. It was one of the few TV programs I actually made time to watch.
Why don’t you consider putting together a 30 minute educational program designed to go into the detail of having fun, and when necessary surviving in the great outdoors? I think it could be a real hit and maybe funded and picked up by the PBS in the United States.
Good luck in future endeavors. I will get my Les Stroud fixes on your web site until you return to the tele.
Les, You put yourself in harms way for the education and entertainment of others and that is very commendable. Big fan of your show, book, outlook and attitude. I’ve learned a lot by watching the show and where I hope to not have to apply my learnings anytime soon, it is phenominal knowledge to posses. Thank you. Camping at Chimney Pond and climbing Mt. Katahdin in August ’09(Maine’s tallest mountain and also where I live) sure you’ve heard of it, being from Canada. Cathedral trail is, to many, the most extreme and difficult. Won’t be by myself though, lol. Looking forward to more adventures. Thanks again !
Survivorman was a great show. I hope to see you stay in the public eye with your works, be it TV or web. Keep up the great work. This is the first time to your site, my cousin sent me the link, Ihope you stay well funded so you can continue to educate us.
Thank you, Les, for everything you do. As a rock climber and a parent, I know the difficulties of leaving your family for extended periods of time in pursuit of your outdoor passion. Your sacrifice, dedication, and continued commitment are greatly appreciated. And you pull it off with style, music, and humor!
Hey Everyone…maybe old news to some but I was just told by my daughter that Les has a new show coming this summer called, “Survive This”! I don’t have all the details about the show, but it seems to be geared towards kids (which is great) learning about survival tactics and scenerios. Maybe someone out there can elaborate on this new family show our beloved Survivorman is bringing to us! Also, can anyone give me the 411 on when Survivorman Season 3 will be out on DVD? Many thanks!
How are you dude? I’ve been watching the show since day one. I just love it. I gotta say I have learned alot from watching it, and because of the show I feel alot more confident about going out camping and hiking. I am a student at Fanshawe College and I noticed that you are a Fanshawe Alum. When are you going to come back and visit the old stomping grounds? I and many other would love to see you give a talk at the school sometime in the near future. Keep up the good work and love the video blog!
Les, I am a newcomer to your show (being only a few months) because our family didn’t have discovery. Anyway since introduced to the show I found it amazing and watch it whenever I can.
