Les, your smile is so warm and inviting, your presence inspires balance and harmony, your words inspire courage and determination. You are a gift of hope and joy.

Les, I am learning so much from Survive This. I am learning that the very best teachers have thorough knowledge of their subject, real experience from the real world, and are firm but compassionate with their students. In my opinion, you are one of the very best teachers, ever. To Catarina, if anyone says to any of you that what you did was easy, please forgive them their ignorance. Your personal hardships in life have made you a supportive and compassionate young woman, and that is a treasure greater than gold to someone in crisis. May your future be blessed. To Adam, Jen, and Zac, we sometimes fail to properly appreciate the knowledge, courage, selflessness, and vision of those who lead. We forget that exceptional people such as yourselves make us all stronger and carry us forward to a better future. May you always be strong for the sake of all of us, even when we dont have the good sense to properly appreciate you.

Les, thanks for the book, and I hope you enjoyed my journeys in “The Bull Catchers”. One note regarding the essential survival kit. I discovered on a recent trip down the wild Devil’s River in west Texas that GORILLA TAPE is a life saver. We hung the canoe on the Devil’s Toenail, and, after prying it off with a tree we cut down with our essential folding saws, we hammered it back into shape by jumping up and down in it, and we patched the hole with GORILLA TAPE on both sides. It stuck so good we’re not going to bother doing anything else to fix the canoe. Also fixed a fishing rod, a kayak paddle, and a tarp with the same roll of tape. FYI Amigo. Keep the faith!
