wanted to let you know about another way to start a fire with a double AA battery or bigger. It’s a little hard to do but you need fine wire or a paper clip works to, but what you do is have to peace of wire and you hold them to the ends of the battery, if you have alittle tape that would help hold them in place you also need a little cotton or other dry tender you hold the two end of wires together they will heat upand start the fire or if your lucky you can get them to spark once in a while and as long as your fairly quick you can use it sevral times and still have working flash light.
Mr. Stroud I enjoy your shows very much in fact you are liveing the life I want. Infact because of your show my wife no longer complains about all the survival gear in the car which is a Ax,full size shovel and two first aid kits as well as a coffee can full of sawdust as well as cans of soup and a gallon of water and a blanket. Actually I DVR your show because it helps teach my wife and when my son is of age about livening off the land infact we are looking for land of our own so that we can build off the grid and the way you show all the food you can find if you know what your looking for and of course if it’s in season. I would love to go on one of your survival trips and and just survive with my hands and mind, not every man has the abilty to go out and just live off the land the way you do and I know its a hard thing to do even under the best condition and I respect you for only really relying on your self to get your self out of ware ever your at. I would really like to know when you are going to show your home that your building in canada I would like to see what green features you have and what issuse you had with building in the middle of noware. I don’t miss a single show and you’ve showed me so much I feel that I’m your ULTIMATE FAN
Thanks for posting, definitely going to subscribe! See you on my reader.
Hi Les if you actually do really read this. My name is Derek Van Altena. I am originally from New Liskeard Ontario. My father George used to own the Miner’s Market grocery store in Cobalt. I remember you shopping and talking to you when I worked there in my younger years. My whole family loves watching Survivorman as well as Survive This.I am looking forward to reading your book too. The guys at work are now hooked and couldn’t believe I knew you and used to camp on Lake Temagami where you shot the plane crash. You have inspired me. I am planning to try a week in the Rockies with a friend of mine with a few more supplies though. The outdoors is what I love!
I love you and your show! I don’t know if it’s supposed to be funny but you make me laugh so hard. I know it’s a serious show but you are so good at making it look fun! I even get jealous over your grasshoppers. How you make them look tasty is beyond me!
Cool! I never knew there was a “survivor man” in Canada.
Ive just moved here from the UK where there was someone who used to be in the SAS. It was a good watch.
If your stuffs anything to go on like his then ill definitley tune in.
Thanks.

Hi Les,
Love your show!
We have an unusual treehouse in Costa Rica – a house without walls, in an eco-forest near the Pacific Ocean.
Watched one of your survival shows which was filmed in Costa Rica. Sometimes we get butterflies flying through our livingroom and the grasshoppers, when in season, are huge!

Hello there! i am an 13 year old girl and i am his definite ultimate fan!! the first reason why i am his biggest fan is because we have the same birthday!! (HAAPPPPPPY BIIRTHDAY LES!!!!) I just turned 13 today and i was browsing Reddit, when all of a sudden i see a post saying happy birthday to him, i right away wanted to email him! but i couldn’t find a direct email, so then i saw the ultimate fan thing and said “maybe he’ll see it if i won!” so here i am sitting on my chair typing this! Oh sorry for getting off topic there! okay so the second reason why im the biggest fan is because I’ve watched all ur episodes, literally every single one, i even re watched most of them because of how good they were! and I feel soooo sorry because you dont have a camera crew, im guessing you wanted it that way (BECAUSE UR AWESOME!) and every time u get a scene u are walking away from the camera, then u have to walk all the way back just to get it! u work really hard to make your show perfect and i thank you for that! and i just wanted to know how great-full i am (and the rest of ur fans) for you working so hard
and last but not least…. the last reason why i am ur greatest fan is because ur WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better than man vs wild…!! he has a camera crew and u dont, so that makes u work way harder than he does. and plus on his show he does things that are sooo freakin hard/impossible. like if someone was to really survive in the wilderness no one would know how to do the stuff he does! so his show isn’t doing anything really, but u actually survive! like really really survive! So that’s why i am ur #1 fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
btw i <3 u so much.
Good afternoon,
Like you I am an avid survival student. I say student because there is always more to learn in the world of survival. I am in the Marine Corps and have watched all of your shows, films, and read your books. I greatly all that you do to help everyone become more safe in their travels. I also respect what you do for the cultures of this world that are vanishing right before our eyes. It is a shame to let these ancient people’s way of life be destroyed. It is because of them that we have made it to the point we are in our world. You are without a doubt one of the best celebrities that uses their fame for the people. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you. If I could I would also have a show teaching survival and bringing knowledge to as many people as I can. I was an I structure for the Marine Corps teaching survival as well as mountain living. It was one of the best jobs that I have had because I knew that I was giving skills to someone who might one day need them to save their life. That was a great feeling. If there was one person that I could meet it would be you. I can’t wait for you to make more films and tv shows. Be safe.
