From the Rockies to the Rock
A Film for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada
Rubber Side Down tells the story of two amateur cyclists, Greg Mailloux and Vin Heney, who ride across Canada over three months in the summer of 2008 to raise awareness and funds for Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis research. Their determination is astounding as Mailloux himself is afflicted by Crohn’s disease. With help along the way from Associate Producer John C. Scott, the cyclists film their day-to-day struggles pedalling 8000 km from Victoria, BC to St. John’s Newfoundland.
Fast-forward to 2010: the documentary is near completion and an astounding $84,384 has been raised for the CCFC.
Founder of Bad Andy Productions and an integral part of the LSP editing team, Andy Peterson donated countless hours to the initiative to see Rubber Side Down come to fruition. He produced and edited the 45 minute feature documentary with support from long-time boss and friend, Les Stroud.
The film will be made available on the ‘Stroud Films’ portion of www.lesstroud.ca, and DVDs can be purchased through www.rubbersidedownmovie.com
