Les Stroud Hockey Pro Survivor Challenge in Hornepayne Ontario has raised over $100,000 (and still counting) for the repairs and rebuilding of the Hornepayne hockey arena! A big thank you to all of those who participated and donated funds, including the Trillium Fund and Hydro One.
Congratulations Les. I am very happy for your success. News articles reported participant comments as follows, “soaked by the rain…worried fire might never light…lost…mosquitoes as big as seagulls…Extremely demanding…respect Les for having Survived Hostile Conditions for Seven nights”…and you did that Les, repeatedly, for years, and filmed yourself doing it, and shared that with us, and taught us so much, not just about the nuts and bolts of basic survival, but about courage, faith, gentleness, honour, and the strength of will it takes to endure and defeat miserable and dangerous circumstances. You will always have my deepest respect. I sincerely hope that your future will be blessed with every good fortune and that you will continue to share your knowledge and your life with us.
