You’ve managed to inspire me again! I grew up in Colorado and have done some pretty wacked out things, like yourself. I love the thrill of pushing the envelope, and the humility it gives me to make it back to friends and family, not just alive and well, but rewarded with a story of trials and tribulations, beauty and a sense of something much bigger than myself. You’ve inspired me to keep my own blog for over two years now, to travel and sleep in a van and adventure beyond the typical confines of life, and I appreciate everything you’ve done. Good luck with the show. I’ll make an effort to catch it whenever I can!
I would just like to thank you, and this is the only way I can find to do that. My family was at Roaring River in Missouri for our family Memorial Day picnic this year. My grandmother seemed to have a heat stroke. No one in the park looked up as my family was rushing around trying to get her loaded up to go to the hospital. I kicked myself in the butt for taking so long to react, but I was watching a snip of you Survivor Man show in my head. You were in the desert talking about cooling the blood down by applying a wet rag to the neck. I did that for her, not thinking that it was enough. As it turns out her carotid arteries were mostly clogged. I helped save her from a stoke by watching your show. She is going into surgery next week, and when I told her about what happened she laughed and said that I guess I was smart for watching you and that it really helped her from having a stroke and giving her time to get to a hospital. Thank you so very much.
